MOTIVATION

I am currently organizing the Be a Hero Event to highlight my brother Kalvin S-Denis Bissonette's courage following his hard fought battle with Leukemia ALL in 2015. Thanks to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, my brother was able to overcome the disease. The main purpose of the event is to raise community awareness for Kalvin, who had to face childhood cancer. Funds raised will be donated to the CHEO Foundation to help the hospital provide many pediatric programs, develop research, acquire state-of-the-art equipment, contribute to the training of medical nurses and helping families in times of difficulty. Every little step brings us closer to the goal.

Be PROUD to be a HERO and BATTLE cancer!

WHY  SHOULD  I  PARTICIPATE?

THE CHEO FOUNDATION

The Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario is the largest children's hospital in Eastern Ontario, specializing in pediatric care in Ottawa.
It was this hospital that took care of my brother Kalvin St-Denis Bissonette.

THE RESEARCH

Medical research is something that requires a lot of funds, but also a lot time. Many people have been wondering why we haven't found a cure to cancer, although we have made many advancements and progress on the subject, it is definitely not an easy task. Still, times appear to be encouraging. Cancer research in Canada and around the world continues to work hard to bring us closer to the day where we will have a cure.

Cancer research applies to a wide range of activities and aspects of the scientific study. These types of cancer studies allows us to deepen our understanding of these diseases. Hopefully one day we will find a solution.
